I drive an extremely beat up car. Its a light blue 1990 hatchback Honda Civic . Here’s some numbers:
- I acquired it 6 years ago when living in NYC about 20 miles north of the city in rochester New York.
- I got it for $1500 after bargaining down from $2000
- It had 118,000 miles on it and since then, I’ve put less than 20,000 miles on it
- I drive 3 miles one way to work. I’ve driven it cross country once. I’ve taken it up to colorado twice from here.
- I threw out the front seat in Texas so that I could sleep in it and a few months later when I got to Santa Fe and settled into a house, I found a new seat from a 1991 acura in a Junkyard.
- Parts replaced since my ownership: exhaust pipe, front wheel rod with turning bearing on one side, 2 front side light cases (both smashed in parking incidents), 1 main front light casing, radiator.
- I recently hit (by accident) a coyote or wolf while driving at night up to Colorado and this busted my right turning light.
