Gmail is Down August 30, 2006

Gmail is back. Im going to back up via pop3 as soon as i get home.

Update: (13:10 MST The next day)

Gmail is still down, making 28 hours and counting, and I haven’t received a reply to my second email where I asked about my actual account.

Starting at 9 this morning my gmail has been down. Its now 22:30 and I’m suffering more and more as time goes on. Throughout the day I’ve seen multiple people access their gmail and I’ve googled and technorati’d around and its a definite issue http://groups.google.com/group/Gmail-down I would at least appreciate a reason as to why there is this failure. When youtube went down a few weeks ago they mentioned that it was due to database troubles. I don’t care if they have a beta tag, its been in beta for over 2 years I believe.

I emailed google and they gave me a case number and here is what they had to say:

Your Gmail account has been disabled due to a technical issue. Our
engineers are working diligently to find a solution so that you can
regain access to your account.  

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we thank you
for your patience during our limited test of Gmail.

Mine is down since yesterday in the afternoon.
I suppose i must wait until this night or maybe tomorrow :/

I have found a tips to avoid the problem..

Ahum, if you use Internet Explorer (mine is version 7 RC1), you have access to your gmail account.

But with Firefox, it’s blocked !
